Perhaps the gutsiest move I have made in advance of WordCamp was to reach out to Anil Dash of SixApart. Anil is loved by many but reviled by nearly as many – particularly people holding on to long time grudges in the WordPress community.
Anil is a community evangelist for SixApart and has a history of fighting passionately on behalf of Movable Type, TypePad, Vox, etc. He has also moderated quite a bit since I first met him, as have I.
The premise of the offer was to provide Anil an opportunity to speak directly to the WordPress community with the understanding that we all learn from each other, regardless of the platforms we choose to use. This is an opportunity for a coming together, and an opportunity to learn.
