aren’t sure how to address VPN Error 720?

If your computer receives error 720 when you are connecting to VPN connections. What shall we do with this error? Error 720 is possibly caused by a connection to the remote computer could not be established. You might need to change the network settings for this connection when your computer receives error 720. Don’t worry about that, here are the solutions.

Solution 1:

–Disconnect the current VPN server, use another one in the VPN connection list.

Open your Network of your Computer, find HMA-PPTP of the Connections, right click to View Connection Properties, there is a list of VPN Destination, just try to connect to another VPN server until it works.

–By the way, set your router again, if you have, to make it allow using L2TP/PPTP VPN connection.

Solution 2:

–Reset TCP/IP service.

Search Command Prompt in your computer, make it Run as Administrator, click Yes to allow Windows Command Processor to make changes to this computer, enter NETSH INT IP RESET C:\RESETLOG.TXT in the following box, a few seconds later, it would show Resetting, OK! Restart the computer to complete this action. Restart your computer.

–Fix your network via WinSockFix (BY MS).

Solution 3:

–Delete DriverDesc from Register Editor

Find WAN Miniport (IP) under Network Adapters, right click to open its Properties, click Details, find Driver Key under Property, Value would show {4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0005 automatically. Open Registry Editor, then click the following steps: HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG–SYSTEM–CurrentControlSet–Control–Class–{4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}–005–DriverDesc(in the right box), to right click to delete DriverDesc, click Yes to be sure you want to permanently delete this value.

–Update the driver for WAN Miniport.

Back to WAN Miniport (IP) again, right click to Update Driver Software. Restart your computer.

–Or, update WAN Miniport (IKEv2)

Find WAN Miniport (IKEv2) under Network Adapter, right click to Update Driver Software. Restart your computer.

–Uninstall drivers for all the other WAN procotols.

–Restart your computer at last.
